有鑑於全球氣候異變的威脅日益加劇，本會自本年度起，全面以指定研究的方式進行共生化之研究，積極建構共生圈二號。為有效凝聚研究能量，特在林俊興董事長主持下，由黃晉英秘書長召集祐生環控研究中心、祐生生活研究中心的指導教授、主持人、共同主持人、專任行政助理、指定研究助理等，定期召開共生化之研究獎助研究案指導會議，期能在最短的期間內，研擬因應方案，回應人類生存的嚴苛挑戰。
　　While global climate change is increasingly severe, Archilife Research Foundation will change the manner of the funding projects for the Research of Symbiosis into supervised research from this year to aggressively construct the Sybmiosphere 2 Center. In order to effective gather research energy, under the direction of President Lin Chun-shin, Secretary General Huang Chin-ying invited to the supervisors, principal investigators, co-principal investigators, full-time administrative assistants and the assistants of supervised research projects of the Archilife Environ-Control Research Center and Archilife Living Research Center to the Research of Symbiosis Funding Project Steering Conference held on a regular basis to find out the solutions for the challenges on human survival within the shortest time.

　　2009年9月份共生化之研究獎助研究案指導會議於2009年9月22日，假本會「蟲洞」、祐生環控研究中心召開。首先，林俊興董事長表示，八八水災與宜蘭暴雨，顯示氣候異變的步調，已經進入全新轉折期。主要的原因為溫帶氣旋所及緯度與北極結冰範圍，兩者相互重疊區域已達極限，北極融冰現象即將停止，意味著原本可提供減緩溫度遽升的條件全然消失。未來全球溫度勢必快速上升，將造成更為慘烈的災難。可是，令人憂心的是，政府、民間對於氣候異變的認知仍侷限於IPCC（聯合國「跨政府氣候變遷專門委員會」）的報告，所謂的因應對策仍拘泥於綠色建設的作為。可是，當IPCC的報告無法解釋八八水災，而綠色建設亦無法因應宜蘭惡水時，社會就會陷入集體焦慮。事實上，面對無法適應的極端環境，人類只能另覓可居的環境。因此，本會將積極進行共生圈二號的研究，探索、建構可以對抗氣候變遷的可遷居形式，以協助人類族群在面對氣候異變的災難時，能保有最後的生機。
　　The September 2009 Research of Symbiosis Funding Project Steering Conference was held at the Archilife Wormhole and Archilife Environ-Control Research Center on September 22, 2009. First, President Lin Chun-shin explained that the severe rainstorms on August 8 and in Yilan showed that the pace of climate change has entered a new turning period. It is because the overlapping area of temperate cyclone activities and freezing activities in North Pole has reached the upper limit, and the meltdown in the North Pole will stop anytime. This suggests that the vehicle for cooling down warming will disappear completely. In the future, global temperature will rise rapidly, causing severer disasters. However, what is troubling us more is that the understanding of climate change in either the government or the public is still trapped in the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, UN) reports, believing that green construction is the action for solving the problem. However, when IPCC is unable to explain the August 8 Flood in its report, green construction cannot cope with the floods in Yilan, anxiety overcasts the society. In fact, facing such inadaptable extreme environment, it is necessary for humans to seek another livable environment. Therefore, we will engage in the aggressive study of the Symbiosphere 2 Center and explore and develop the migratory pattern to fight climate change, in order to help the human race to keep the last hope of survival in the climate change disasters.

　　隨後，黃晉英秘書長表示，共生圈二號是一個嶄新的嘗試，期望各研究組都能加速研究進程，以因應迫切的危機。蘇慶華教授表示，未來將要求各研究組積極進行相關研究，以回應極限結構的種種挑戰。江哲銘教授表示，未來的環境雖然險峻，但只要我們全力以赴，一定可以獲致豐碩的成果。會議結束前，林俊興董事長表示，人類雖然號稱萬物之靈，可是可以超越自然極限的地方並不多。面對十萬年周期災變，我們將儘快整合過去的研究，期望留給新世代一個全新的起點，協助他們通過人類從來沒有見過的變局，相信這也是我們可以奉獻給未來世代最寶貴的珍藏。在林俊興董事長結束談話後，本次指導會議至此順利完成。
　　Later on, Secretary General Huang Chin-ying added, the Symbiosphere 2 Center is a brand new attempt. Therefore, she wished all research teams can speed up their research progress in order to cope with the urgent crisis. According to Professor Su Ching-hua, research teams will be requested to engage in the relevant researches in order to cope with the extreme structural challenges. According to Professor Chiang Che-ming, though the future environment is dreadful, we shall get fruitful results as long as we do the best. Before the Conference was adjourned, President Lin Chun-shin added, though humans presume that man is the wisest in all creation, we do not have much power to surpass the extremes in nature. Facing the 100,000-year-period disaster, we will integrate past studies as soon as possible in order to leave a brand new start for the new generation and to help them go through the unprecedented change in human history, because this will be the most precious thing we can tribute to the future generations. The steering conference ended smoothly after the conversation of President Lin Chun-shin.
